The National Postage Stamp & Coin Show, sponsored by Canadian Coin News and Canadian Stamp News, is set to return with a major focus on educating collectors about counterfeits in the marketplace.
A key highlight is a counterfeit detection seminar on Saturday at 1 p.m., presented by expert Mike Marshall. With extensive experience in identifying counterfeit coins and banknotes, Marshall will share authentication techniques, common red flags, and the latest counterfeit threats, helping collectors protect their investments.
The show will also feature more than 50 dealers from across Canada, offering a wide selection of numismatic and philatelic material.
For young collectors, the popular Youth Table returns, hosted by Cassidy Stroud, youth co-ordinator for the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association. On Sunday at 1 p.m., Stroud will lead the free Youth Auction, where participants can bid on numismatic items at no cost. Parents attending with children receive free admission.
The 82nd Annual Exhibition of the North Toronto Stamp Club will showcase competitive philatelic exhibits.
Held at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale Hotel, 6750 Mississauga Rd., Mississauga, Ont., the show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission is $6 on Saturday and $3 on Sunday, with free entry for youth under 16. The cost includes free parking and complimentary copies of Canadian Coin News and Canadian Stamp News.
