Two well-known names in the Canadian numismatic community will join the bourse at the upcoming National Postage Stamp & Coin Show in Mississauga, Ont. Peter McDonald of PM Coins and Sean Isaacs of Alliance Coins & Banknote have both confirmed their attendance, adding even more depth to the show’s strong dealer lineup.
McDonald, based in Kirkland, Que., brings nearly five decades of experience to the bourse. He began his numismatic career in 1976 distributing coins for the Montreal Olympics’ official coin program and went on to manage Mintmaster International Inc. and Mintmaster Numismatics Ltd. until 1999. Over the years, he has handled Royal Canadian Mint products, collectible coins, medals, bullion and foreign currencies, and played a key role in producing and distributing the .9999 gold and silver beaver coin program from 1977 to 1980. In addition to operating PM Coins since 1999, McDonald is a past recipient of the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association’s Charles D. Moore Award. His presence will give collectors the chance to access top-quality material and benefit from his extensive expertise.
Isaacs, who operates Alliance Coins & Banknote in Almonte, Ont., has built a strong reputation for high-grade world coins and banknotes, with an emphasis on attractive, collectible material. He is also well known to Canadian Coin News readers, having served for a number of years as editor of the magazine’s “Trends” section. A familiar face at major Canadian and U.S. shows, he is known for bringing a carefully curated selection that appeals to both advanced and entry-level collectors. His participation offers attendees a chance to browse a diverse range of items and engage with an experienced, well-respected dealer.
The addition of McDonald and Isaacs complements an already robust bourse that will feature over 50 dealers across more than 125 tables, offering coins, banknotes, stamps, postcards, medals, tokens and other collectibles. The show, Canada’s largest combined stamp and coin event, will also include a youth table and a free auction for collectors under 16.
The National Postage Stamp & Coin Show runs Sept. 6-7 at the Hilton Mississauga, 750 Mississauga Rd., Mississauga, Ont. Full details, including dealer lists, admission, and special events, are available at stampandcoinshow.com.
